Bailey Carlson, Ph.D.
Who am I?
As of 2025, I recently completed graduatte school at the University of California, Merced and now I am a lecturer in the School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences teaching several different marine biology courses. I am also a husband, and a father to two little ones. I attended undergraduate at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa where I received my B.S. in biology. I am a NOAA Hollings Scholar, class of 2016, where I worked at the Southwest Fisheries Science Center in Santa Cruz, CA. I love the biological sciences with particular bias toward the marine realm and any activities that pertain to it like surfing, scuba diving, spearfishing, and conducting research. I am passionate about evolution, spreading awareness about climate change, and Jesus. I enjoy sharing in gentleness (I understand these can be sensitive subjects on both sides) about each of these topics and how I see the intersection between science and faith.
